Day Two; The power of knowledge

Day Two; The power of knowledge by Alyssa Gonzales
I am grateful for my education.

While many dread going to school for six hours, five days a week, many are unaware of how grateful we should be for having the privilege to receive such an education. Growing up I was always told that knowledge is the core to success and will allow me to achieve my goals.

In India, 15% of Indian students reach high school, and only 7% of the 15% graduate. In Manila, 5.6 million people dropped out of school in the last year. In Niger, nearly 70% of children are uneducated. In Niger, nearly 85% of the adult population is illiterate. Looking at the bigger picture, more than sixty-seven million children in the entire world are uneducated and are unable to go to school.
