throwbacks;

So today I woke up at 10 and began to get ready for a family party&&the curious person I am, I went in my Uncle's garage to find my great-grandmother's piano and my grandfather's guitar. Now everyone pretty much knows how sentimental I am about things and this being  my Uncle's last shindig before the big move, I had to take a picture of the things that defined my grandfather and great-grandma.

It's been seven years already since my great-grandmother passed away and almost 16 years since my grandfather passed away. Time really does go by quickly. My great-grandmother taught me everything I know; family must be valued, education comes before boys, and be grateful for the people in my life. She is the most selfless person I have ever know. While she had all the money in the world, she lived a small house and did not spend a single penny on herself. I remember running up her stairs every time I got my report card, hearing her voice in the morning to tell me happy birthday, and her Nesquik chocolate milk. She spent spent her life saving lives as a doctor and after she retired she continued to help the lives around her.

Now while my grandfather passed when I was I was a little over one years old, I know for certain he is a great man. He is the one responsible for all the pictures in my baby album. I didn't get the chance to actually know him but judging by the man that my father is, I know my grandfather was amazing because he is the that my Dad calls his hero.
