Day Twenty-Three; One Billion Lives
What is thirst? How many of us actually experienced thirst? There are times where I think I am thirsty but to be honest, the longest I have gone with being thirsty is not even close to an hour.
One billion people in this world do not have access to clean drinking water and nearly 4,500 children under the age of 5 die every day due to contaminated water. Approximately one child dies every 13 seconds. It is estimated that an average woman walks nearly 4 miles to collect water. Almost 80% of global diseases are caused because of contaminated water.
Moreover, water is the root to all living things; water allows plants to grow as it empowers agriculture and humans cannot go more than 48 hours without water.
Without water, there is no life.
