Day Fifty-Eight; The cost of war

Day Fifty-Eight; The cost of war by Alyssa Gonzales
I am thankful for peace.

War has a great effect towards the lives of individuals around the world. Death is just one of the costs of war.

During the First Gulf War from 1990-1991, about 382 American service members died in-theater, 147 of those were a result of direct combat.

During the Vietnam War 1964 to 1975, there were 47,413 U.S. Military battle-related deaths, and 10,785 service members died from other causes.

During World War II 1940-1945, there were 291,557 American troops lost their lives in combat, and 671,846 were wounded.

On September 2001, 2,792 people lost their lives when the twin towers fell in New York.

I cannot express the gratitude I have for the soldiers who have fought for the safety of my wellbeing, my families and my friends. It takes courage, strength, and bravery for one to risk their lives so peace can be created.
