&&here's to the people who are affected by sandy

It's been more than two weeks since Sandy hit my town and while I am very thankful that my home was not hit that hard, my heart goes out to the victims who are still affected by the hurricane damage. Thanksgiving is in one week and all I can comprehend is a Thanksgiving without a home. The most important thing about thanksgiving is manifesting the appreciation for life itself and the people who fill out lives with great happiness and joy. In addition, thanksgiving is a time to be thankful of what we have as we embrace the simplicity. I am thankful to have my family by my side and all of them being safe in the hurricane. I am also thankful for my home. Every year my family celebrates thanksgiving at home and all I can think about is those who's homes are damaged and how many cannot celebrate thanksgiving in the warmest of their own home. So here's to those affected by Sandy, to those who helped throughout the disaster and are continuing to help, to the ones who are reaching out to victims and lending a helping hand, and to everyone is contributing to the relief.

To add on, school is something I find very essential in life and it is something that I value greatly. I absolutely love going to school and I am excited to be in class tomorrow. On the other hand, many schools were closed due to severe damage and board of educations are now rescheduling vacations as spring breaks become shorter and some schools are even thinking about having school on Saturdays.
